After defeating Juventus in the Derby d’Italia in September, things were looking great for Inter. Then things went downhill. First, it was an upset 3-1 defeat toViktoria Plzen in Europa League action. Frank de Boer then tried to rotate his squad in a must-win game against Roma.
However, that strategy failed, as Inter was defeated in that match. A two-game losing streak puts pressure on de Boer shoulders.
The good news for Inter is that Cagliari has been very poor outside of home. Not only do they have a three-game losing streak at home, but they have given up nine goals during that losing streak. However, they are just one point behind Inter and have scored in every Serie A game, except for one this season.
Also, the Rossoblu have a two-match winning streak and have won three out of their last four games. Can the Rossoblu get their first win on the road this season? Can they take advantage of Inter's weakness?
Prediction: The Nerazzurri will try to avoid a three-game losing streak in all competitions, especially with their Europa League match against Southampton next week. Currently, a team that's ninth place in the Serie A table is bad and could see them go in the bottom half of the Serie A table and the pressure on de Boer increases. Cagliari, despite not winning on the road, did defeat Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza 4-1 two-years ago. The Rossoblu, as I mentioned before, are also on a two-match winning streak, and will have high confidence going into this match. I expect this to be a high-scoring game. In the end, Inter will continue its struggle, and Cagliari will continue having a tough time on the road. A draw will be the outcome of this game.
