Borussia Dortmund will come into matchday 4 of the 2016/17 Champions League campaign sitting in first place of the Group F table. They started their Champions League journey with a 6-0 beatdown against Legia Warsaw on the road and came from behind to tie 2-2 at home against Real Madrid. And in their last game, they defeated Sporting Lisbon by a 2-1 score in a tight contest.
Sporting is currently in third place in their group with three points with the only win against Legia Warsaw. What's Interesting is that Real Madrid and Dortmund defeated them by the same 2-1 scoreline. Unlike the match against Dortmund where they were trailing early, Sporting were leading against Real until the last minutes of the game. But goals from Ronaldo and Morata denied them the upset win.
Prediction: It is do or die for Sporting when they square off against Dortmund, but a loss here could end their Champions League campaign. So we can expect them not to give up without a fight this Wednesday night. But Dortmund is a side with a remarkable record at home. It is hard to see them lose any points until the matchday six encounter against Real Madrid on the road.
