Welcome back to the latest edition of the Wrestling Take. Where back to talking about the latest news in the world of professional wrestling.
Hulk Hogan Making An Appearance at WrestleMania 33: My guess is that WWE could bring Hogan out and have him make an appearance in the ring with an emotional expression with a welcome back chant. However, I don't think this is going to happen because the WWE is uncomfortable bringing him back. If WrestleMania 33 books a main event of John Cena vs. Roman Reigns, WrestleMania 33 is going to be the top trend on Twitter and get front page headlines all over newspapers, and that's what the WWE wants. Still, they won't get that diehard wrestling fan to watch WWE, new subscription numbers, etc. Does the WWE have the create opportunity for Hogan to play a different character? No. Even though this creates social media outrage on how a guy, who said a racist comment on a radio show after he was going through a divorce. This is why WWE doesn't want to get negative press if they do bring Hogan back. But my question is: Will Hulk Hogan make an appearance with another wrestling promotion?
Thoughts on the WWE Cruiserweight Division: I find it hard to believe that WWE is giving an hour of time to produce what is potentially going to be another hour of wrestling, but many great wrestlers are in the cruiserweight division to put them on a crap show like Raw. Raw likes to throw around the word "division", but puts on two mediocre matches a week. And what if those matches repeat itself every week? Is that a division"? I mean, are we watching an enhancement match? How about another division? The WWE has no idea on how to work a division outside of the format: where a champion defeats a challenger, and then a new challenger randomly comes out of nowhere and defeats a champion in a non-title match, hence why I get sick and tired of that same format. By creating this 205 Live after Smackdown, I don't believe it'll create that same energy that the Cruiserweight Classic had, but I'm going to give it a chance. All bets are that this is going to be the ECW we saw on Sci-Fi years ago, but at least it will allow for some of these cruiserweight wrestlers getting squashed by Braun Strowman every week.
